Educational Visits
|
We welcome educational visits and field trips to our synagogue from people of all ages: local interest groups, school groups, undergraduates and academics, teachers and trainee teachers, faith groups, ordinands, U3A groups, charities and other organisations.
Sessions usually last about an hour, and are tailored to the needs, background and interests of your group. A typical visit includes a general introduction to the synagogue and the many artefacts (including a sefer torah / Torah scroll and the Ark that holds it), and an insight into Jewish religious practices and holy days, and our customs and culture. The sessions are definitely a two-way conversation, and we value questions and contributions from visitors. Visits must be pre-booked. If you would like to arrange or discuss a group visit, please contact us at [email protected]. In addition to our general introduction, we can also explore more specialised topics tailored to your interests. We can talk about this when you get in touch. Come in and learn more about Judaism and the Oxford Jewish community - we look forward to your visit. |
